December 16, 2009 – Interim Tariff 2010 Announced

(Toronto) – The Copyright Board of Canada today issued an interim Private Copying Tariff for 2010.  Under the interim tariff, the Canadian Private Copying Collective (CPCC) will continue to collect private copying levies at the current rate until the Copyright Board issues a final decision in 2010.

Interim Tariff – 2010

The Copyright Board heard arguments for the Private Copying Tariff 2010 on November 24th and 25th, 2009. There was no levy rate increase proposed for 2010.

The CPCC is the non-profit agency that collects the private copying royalty and distributes it to its member collectives, which represent songwriters, composers, music publishers, recording artists, musicians and record companies.
